Unisa general admission requirements
Admission
    * To be admitted to study at Unisa you must meet the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification. If you don’t meet these requirements, we will either give you alternative admission opportunities or ask you to follow an extended programme, which means that you will register for limited modules in your first year and receive additional learner support for that year.
    * Remember, there may be additional admission requirements based on the qualification you choose. Meeting these criteria does not mean automatic acceptance. Many qualifications have a limited number of places for the year. Each application will be considered individually.

Re-admission

    * As an undergraduate student, you must register for, and pass, at least 36 credits (or 3 modules) over two consecutive semesters. If you don’t, you will not be re-admitted to Unisa in 2015.
    * From your second year of study, you need to pass a minimum of 48 credits (4 modules) per year/over two consecutive semesters. If you don’t, you won’t be allowed to study further at undergraduate level, unless you complete a one-year certificate programme (NQF level 5) from an accredited university after the year of exclusion.

Re-admission for alternative pathway students

You must register for, and pass, at least 24 credits (or 2 modules) over two consecutive semesters. If you don’t, you will not be re-admitted to Unisa in 2015.
Maximum time to finish a qualification

    * 3 years to complete a 120-credit Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate
    * 8 years to complete a 360-credit degree (3-year degree)
    * 10 years to complete a 480-credit degree (4-year degree)
